Dr. Devender Kumar

Assistant Professor

Dr. Devender Kumar is Assistant Professor at the Center of Excellence for Geopolitics and International Studies (CEGIS), REVA University. He is a Visiting Faculty at (SIF) and a member of the Indian Political Science Association. He earlier worked as an Assistant Professor of International Relations and Security Studies at the Rashtriya Raksha University under the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India.

He holds a Ph.D. in International Relations from Jawaharlal Nehru University. He is the author of the book Palestine, Jordan and the Making of Israel and edited International Relations and Contemporary Security Issues. The review of his edited volume appeared in the “Indian Journal of Public Administration” published by Sage in Volume 26, Issue 1, March 2022. He holds an M.Phil. in West Asian Studies and a Masters in International Relations from the School of International Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University.

In June 2023, he represented India in the International Meeting on ‘BRICS in the Framework of a World in Tension: Advances for its Consolidation and Expansion’ organized by the University of Buenos Aires and the Catholic University of Cordoba, Argentina. He has also delivered lectures at foreign universities i.e. in November 2022 he spoke on “India’s Foreign Policy Since 1947” at the session organized by Middle East Technical University, Türkiye. Since 2020 he has been speaking at the ‘Rise of Asia Series Conference’ organised by the University of Paris and the University of Le Havre, Normandy, France. Dr. Kumar has extensively written papers on various aspects of international affairs in different journals, magazines, think tanks, and online media. He has presented papers at national and international conferences in India and abroad. His research interests include Geopolitics, Space Security, Indo-Pacific Affairs, NATO, Cold War 2.0, Cyber Security, South-China Sea Conflict, Global Politics, Indian Foreign Policy, West-Asian Affairs, Conflict and Peace Studies, the Arab-Israeli Conflict and India and the Middle East.
